Story of Stephen Mukangai.
Stephen Mukangai, is one of the most famous and sports commentator and journalist in Kenya. However it took him time to reach that level. He has raised from grass to grace and he had to climb many hills before getting a lucrative job at Standard Media Group.

Background of Stephen Mukangai
Mukangai was born in Malava, Kakamega County , precisely in a village called Namshiya. This areas are located in Western Kenya.
Education .
He attended primary school at Namsiya before proceeding to the famous Ingotse High School in Kakamega County. After Highschool he proceeded to Multimedia University of Kenya where he natured his journalism skills.

However before making it in life and in his career, Mukangai revealed that he went through alot since his arrival in Nairobi. He first came to the city in 2008 after Highschool.
Toilet Cleaner in Kibera.
Life was like hell to him, the radio presenter said that, he had no one to depend on. He said that he had to do odd jobs just to make a living . He was living in Kibera slums and hence he had to be a toilet cleaner in order to get some money, to put food on the table, and also pay rent.

The job wasn’t easy , he then decided to join building and construction. Mukangai did the Mjengo job for around 6 months. This work wasn’t that dependable, hence sometimes he used to sleep hungry.
Stephen didn’t give up with life, he continued hustling and after making few coins, he shifted to Mlango kubwa. While here he decided to try his luck and went to standard media group headquarters uninvited to meet Presenter Hassan mwana wa Ali.
How Hassan Mwana wa Ali helped him
The first attempts didn’t bore any fruits. Things were becoming tough. But one night when he was in deep thoughts , he received a call from Hassan Mwana wa Ali, who asked him for another meeting.
He prepared very well and this time the meeting was successful. He was given a chance to co-host with Hassan Mwana wa Ali, whom he really praises , because he changed his life completely.

After landing into this lucrative job, he made his debut later as a sports commentator , during a match between Ulinzi Stars and Red Berets(2010).He proved that he is worth the job and Ali assured him that they will be doing it together.
Since then Mukangai kept on improving as he learns and gains more knowledge in the radio field. He became one of the top sports journalist in Standard media . He gained fame and also his salary started raising.
The media personality is living a very lavish lifestyle and his salary is estimated to be between ksh.300,000 to 400,000 per month.
