From Street Theft to Honest Living
My name is Hassan, and for years in Mombasa, I lived by stealing motorbike parts at night. The money was quick, and the risk felt exciting. We celebrated every “successful mission” like heroes. But fear slowly replaced excitement. Every siren sounded personal. Every stranger looked suspicious.
One morning, police arrested two of my friends. I escaped—but freedom felt heavier than prison. I couldn’t sleep without imagining handcuffs. My conscience was louder than any alarm.
Desperate for peace, I sought guidance from a doctor after hearing stories of transformation. Instead of protection from the law, I was told that protection comes from change. I was guided to cut ties, cleanse destructive habits, and find lawful work.
Today, I repair the very motorbikes I once targeted. My hands still work with machines—but my conscience is clean. The money is slower, but my heart is lighter.
