” Watu Walikuwa Wananisumbua Nairobi Na Sufuria Kwa Kichwa Wameondoka” Ruto Says While In Nakuru
President William Ruto’s statements in Nakuru about people who used to demonstrate with Sufuria’s in Nairobi has caused mixed reactions online.
The president who was praising the people of Nakuru county for being among the top leading counties in food production, said that they helped him to solve the problem he was facing in Nairobi, where people used to demonstrate with Sufuria’s on their head.
Ruto said that currently those people are no longer there, because there is enough food in the country. However this statements have come at a wrong time, and most people have even linked it to the death of Raila Odinga, something that is making them more sensitive.
The truth is that in this case, Ruto was referring to how food production has helped in ending the demonstrations about the cost of unga and other basics needs. However that it’s not true because the price of basic needs including maize flour is still high and Kenyans are still battling with tough economy.
