Meet Eric Ominde, Raila Odinga’s Loyal Driver For 20 Years, Who Has Landed A New Job At Statehouse

President Ruto decided to reward Eric Ominde with a new job at the Statehouse, Eric has been Raila’s loyal driver for 20 years. He was with Raila until his last time, he even exposed a screenshot of him talking with Raila on 12th October, then Raila was pronounced dead 2 days later on 15th October.

Speaking in an interview with NTV, Eric recalled all the hard moments and beautiful moments he shared with Raila. He was the one driving his car during the demonstrations, and one of the most difficult and tensed moment, was during the self swearing in of Raila in 2018 at Uhuru Park.

Ominde said that Raila used to encourage him and tell him not to fear they are safe, he was always the one driving him everywhere he went. Eric who is from Miwani, said that he has a wife and children but has never witnessed them being born, because he was always busy driving Baba around the country.

It is a big blow for him to loose a boss who was like a family to him. After the death of Raila, Ruto has employed Eric and he is now among the Statehouse drivers.
