Githurai is known to be among the most insecure estates in Kiambu County, It is a neighbouring estate to Nairobi, hence most people do confuse whether it is in Nairobi or Kiambu. However in this estate petty theft cases such as phone snatching and selling fake items to people are very common.

In the video that has been going viral online and caused mixed reactions online, it is a video that clearly shows the moment a phone snatcher, ran all the way from the service lane to the highway, and he successfully snatched a passenger’s phone in a Matatu.

The thief had calculated moves, and this just happened within seconds. The video was captured by a dashboard camera. The young man managed to vanish successfully with the phone. The motorist didn’t even intervene or try to stop him from stealing.
