Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has come out openly to reveal to Kenyans, why those playery who lost penalties shouldn’t be blamed. Benni said that he understands the kind of pressure that comes with taking penalties in such crucial games.
He said that he is a kind of coach, who never force a player to take a penalty, he always choose those who are confident enough. If they go ahead and miss the penalties, then that is his own responsibility and not their responsibility, because he is the one who gave them the choice.
Hence according to Benni, players should not be blamed, penalties are always like that and sometimes they may not favour your side. A defeat by Madagascar doesn’t mean that Harambee Stars didn’t have a good tournament, they tried and there is always next time.
