Netizens Say, Gladys Wanga Gave Mawego GenZs Ksh.200 Each To Be Peaceful, But Decided To Burn Police.
A Viral video of Gladys Wanga addressing youths of Mawego before the arrival of Ojwang’s body is trending online. The governor then told them to queue, allegedly gave them some token, about Ksh.200 each. The money was for them to maintain peace and not embarrass the political class. The young people took the money happily, then they went on to burn the police station.
It was just expected to be a peaceful procession but thousands of young people, decided to express their anger. They united to demand for justice for Ojwang, the only way this anger could be displayed, was by them taking the body to the police station. They went to an extend of burning down Mawego police station, a clear sign that the ground is still hostile.
