“Alifungwa 1Year Juu Ya Kukata Napier Grass Ya Jirani” 94 Yrs Old Grandmother Released From Prison

A 94 years old grandmother Sabina Isuza from Kakamega, has finally been released from Kakamega prison, where she has been serving a 1 year jail term for cutting her neighbours Napier grass.

Sabina who is an old woman, didn’t hide her joy for being free, and also her frustrations, as she claimed that she was accused falsely. Sabina said that the Napier grass was in her farm, but the neighbour had faked the title deeds and transferred the land to himself.

The judge ordered Sabina Isuza to be jailed for 1 year or pay a ksh.25,000 cash bail. She was unable to raise the money, hence she was taken in prison.

A non profit organisation received the story of Sabina months later and they decided to come through for her. They paid the cash bail and on 17th April Sabina was released back to the society.
