John Mbadi: Why Government Will Now Tax Private Schools And Not Churches

The cabinet secretary of treasury, John Mbadi has ruled out the possibility of the government taxing any religious organisation, that is churches, mosque and other religions that engage in religious activities.

However the Cs has revealed that there are plans and very soon the government will be taxing charity organisations, and also education institutions, especially private schools.

The Cs said that there are some private schools that are currently charging ksh.1 Million per term, according to him, they deserve to pay tax. He said that it is not fair for a Mama mboga working at Gikomba to pay tax, and an education institution that charges such amount of money doesn’t pay tax.

So Kenyans who have children in private schools should now be ready for school fees increase, because very soon such education institutions will be subjected to taxation and it might be a heavy taxation.
